A little bit about myself:

When I am faced with obstacles, I see opportunities. I am a visionary change-maker; I have practiced this on myself!

My vision is to bring about a future for engineers and scientists that is inclusive and whole. I thought I could bring about this change by just being myself. I sang about it and talked about it, created relationships and networks to provide the foundation. Over time, as obstacles appeared before me, I suppressed my intuition assuming the Other to be correct -- but I did not believe them: women make amazing engineers when we are allowed the space to do our work.

When I completed my MBA, I discovered that my intrinsic beliefs about valuing all people and honouring diversity were being taught as new ideas to business students. Yet my new credential was insufficient to break the glass ceiling above me, so I suppressed my ambition assuming the Other to be correct -- but I did not believe them: women make amazing leaders when we receive the authority to do our work. So, I realized I needed to step out and beyond the golden cage I had locked myself within and learn to do the change-making I was formed to do.

With my doctoral research and post-doctoral work, I came to understand what is missing from the workplace for most engineers and scientists:
a true sense of belonging.

As the President of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, the regulator of these two professions in British Columbia, I expanded my networks across the globe, finding like-minded inclusionary visionary professionals who work to make this world a better place through engineering and science. My eight years on Council strengthened these networks and instilled in me a firm grounding in regulatory excellence for the protection of the public and, most importantly, making this world a better place.

My pragmatism guides clients to creative process solutions in business, engineering, governance and regulation.
My intuition springboards client ideas to new and exciting
