Using LinkedIn to get you unstuck and achieve your business / career marketing goals, helping you self-brand and express your "why."
I know my stuff:
► I was espousing my personal brand to market myself even before I knew what that formally meant
► So far I have added 1900 blog posts, from my Linkedin lens, to the global conversation
► I produced 4 online e-courses on various Linkedin subjects aimed at specific socio-economic demographics and disciplines
► I authored "LinkedIn Marketing Techniques for Law and Professional Practices;" second edition coming Spring 2021
► I also wrote "You, Us, Them, LinkedIn Marketing Concepts for Nonprofit Professionals Who Really Want to Make a Difference," June 2018
Both books are available at https://www.amazon.com/author/marchalpert.
I rank in the top 15 list for fastest growth in number of followers among global LinkedIn coaches and trainers (#1 in August 2020!). I attribute that standing to consistently curated high-quality material and original thought leadership I share daily on LinkedIn.
I am sought as a podcast guest, public speaker, TV and radio expert, and contributor to chapters and quotes in books and articles around the world.

I am a former international banker, then corporate finance officer in numerous multinational companies, but I felt my creativity was wasting away, so I knew I needed to be on my own. I found LinkedIn as the best way to organize all the great people I collected "like baseball cards," as one colleague observed. I learned its tricks and techniques and decided to teach others what I knew would help them: how to tell their "why."
Granted, I am paraphrasing 11 years of my passion to help other professionals achieve greatness.
But it's not just me telling you how well I do my "why." My clients tell me how I am doing:
Insurance exec: All agreed: excellent.
Attorney: Working alongside your book is actually fun.
Law firm: Valuable, opening our eyes to the power this offers the firm and its attorneys.
A NYC bar association: Reviews even better than last year.
Business Librarian: Evaluations highly favorable. Big hit.
Consultant: Rigorous, disciplined approach. Huge insight.
Biz networking guru: A pleasure to watch you in action. You made me face what I’m doing incorrectly, what I need to do, a revelation. (Yeah, big word, but that’s how I feel.)
Attorney: Work cut out; painfully obvious I've neglected my LinkedIn profile.
Insurance pro: The feedback was OVERWHELMING! Really great!
e-comm business: Thank you for your...continued dedication to our little engine.
I also love when nonprofits tell me that my programs help them look even better to donors.
Program director: Class act. Mensch.
Association ED: You know your stuff; every attendee was so pleased.
Nonprofit pro: Incorporated your ideas in my profile-always in beta, as you said.
Consultant: Impactful when needed most.
Planned giving pro: Quite valuable (delicious, nutritious too).
Nonprofit Director of Development: It's just amazing what can be done in seconds. We have been very happy and appreciate all your efforts for us."
Nonprofit Executive Director starting to accept online donations, Thanks, Marc. Exceeding expectations as usual.
Director at a professional membership organization changing their shopping cart: You are most responsive, efficient and effective!
CFO of an association: You are the best! You do exceed expectations.
Nonprofit educational manager: Lots of compliments. The attendees were vested and stayed the whole time and that is a reflection of valuable content and delivery.
I am referred by, and network with, amazing highly-qualified professionals to others who are "stuck" to help them narrate their career story for greater collaborative success.
My overall value proposition: you can attain greater business success. Being client-centric is how I operate; invested into the clients who later love the final product: their career in LinkedIn lights!
My tagline "I exceed expectations" echoes, literally from client reviews:
Insurance SVP: Indeed you 'exceeded expectations.'
Tech COO: >80% surveyed named your session most valuable at the conference.
Class attendee: Learned far more than expected.
HR Interviewer: No one does it quite so effortlessly as Marc.
Solo lawyer: Thanks, and you DO exceed expectations, always have.
I bring passion to what I do, my clients feel it, and they springboard off it. My goal is to continue to work and contribute in my chosen areas and offer others the knowledge from the stripes I earned, as long as I am continuing to learn.
2 seminal books in my coaching and training: "Start With Why" by Simon Sinek (https://amzn.to/3aXl7NP) and "The Start-Up of You" by Reid Hoffman (https://amzn.to/3rKISQ0), and just for extra credit, let's add the movie "Pay It Forward" for how it applies to best practices in self-branding (https://amzn.to/3qcLwgZ).
I was "reared" by 2 New Yorkers in the Capital of the Confederacy.
I am an ardent liberal.
My head is pointed up in the sky in any city as I observe the architecture.
My camera is pointed at details of flowers and plants for their exquisite color and symmetry.
I am a gardening novice but I revel in nurturing anything I can grow.
I was a guest on a TV business show that airs in India and to Punjabi expats all over the world
This time I was speaking about my book "You, US, Them: LinkedIn Marketing Techniques for Nonprofit Professionals Who Really Want To Make a Difference."
The manager of the convention later relayed to me ">80% surveyed named your session most valuable at the conference."
