Introduction

Headline:

Startup Advisor and Pitch Design Coach

I am a(n):

Co-Founder/Managing Partner of Volition | Virtual Events Specialist | International Speaker | Professional Writer | Chief Operations Officer at Women in Tech | Advocate for Women and Girls in Tech & Entrepreneurship | Government Funding Strategist | Remote Work Specialist | Master of Operations and Crisis Management

I am the go-to for:

Engaging your audience. I help people build confidence in their ability to deliver their message and expertise with impact and ease.

What I do:

Fueled by my own nonlinear path to entrepreneurship, I'm a huge proponent of defining and owning your voice, vision, and narrative as an entrepreneur and leader. As such, I work with clients, partners, and students to help them build confidence in their ability to deliver that narrative to their audience and get the outcome that they are actually looking for.

To keep it simple--whether you are developing an investor pitch, looking for government funding, or want to host your next virtual event like a pro, I'm here to listen intently, ask the right questions, and guide you through the process.

Offer

My Offer:

I want to help you feel more confident and prepared for your next big thing, particularly if it involves public speaking, virtual or otherwise. Whether you are preparing to pitch, host an event, or deliver a workshop, it helps to have someone in your corner to guide you in the development and delivery of your narrative, so that you feel prepared to 'get on stage'.

Let's jump on a call (the first one's on me), and figure out your next steps together. I have over 17 years of experience planning and hosting events, virtual or otherwise, and am an international public speaker and writer--I have experience running everything from yoga classes and virtual coworking to multi-national pitch events, masterclasses, and webinars. At Volition alone, we have hosted over 80 pitch events, and I have been running our Pitch Masterclasses since 2019. In other words, I've got you!

My ideal target audience:

People who are curious, ambitious, and willing to put in the work that it takes to build that truly impactful and engaging [insert dream/milestone/project here] AND who could use some outside support to do it.

Reach out if you want to:

  • How to get you to where you want to go. I'm talking purpose, vision, values, and goals.
  • The nitty gritty's, tips and tools of pitching (i.e., building your story and the confidence to deliver it).
  • How to develop critical skills and mindset to become the leader and entrepreneur that you want to be.
  • How to build a non-dilutive funding strategy (e.g., grants and loans) to support your business needs.
  • Getting connected to other entrepreneurs, startup advisors, and events, on a global scale.
  • How to repair from burnout and/or imposter syndrome (and break the cycle!) in an intentional way.

Feel free to also book a session if you want to ask me about:

About

Why me:

Five years ago I drew up a plan for what I wanted my life to look like, and since that day I have been actively pursuing my vision. I absolutely love where this intentional path has taken me, but it hasn't been easy. It has taken myriad cliff-jump moments and a team of incredible people to get me to where I am today, and because of this I am dedicated to providing critical value to my clients and partners to get them to where they want to be.

With over a decade of experience in multiple sectors and fields, I bring an eclectic toolkit of skills, network, and expertise to the projects and people that I work with, often in unexpected ways. If this sounds like a fit, I’d love to connect!

A little bit about myself:

Before pursuing life as an entrepreneur and writer, I worked in the Canadian government for a decade in administration and HR, which provided me a valuable education in productivity hacks and government-speak. Since leaving the government, I have found my tribe within the startup and tech space.

I am Co-Founder and Advisor at Volition, an award-winning startup advisory firm, and COO at Women in Tech World, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing research and programming for women in tech. I have facilitated 34 research events across Canada with 900+ women and men in tech and organized 60+ startup events in North America and Europe. I am also a professional content writer for multiple publications, including MSN, Fast Company, and Daily Hive.

I moved from Vancouver to Madrid in 2018 and now work 100% remote. I avidly support the 'work from anywhere' shift, but I also know how difficult this road can be, which has fueled my passion for supporting the development of remote entrepreneurs and teams.

Fun fact about me:

If I had a superpower it would be to supercharge (and borrow) other people's superpowers (á la Rogue or Mystique from X-men...sort of). Why? (a) I dislike monotony and love to learn and try new things, and (b) I genuinely love to see others excel at what they love to do most.
