About

My story:

In 2003 my husband moved ourselves, two suitcases, and our cat from Michigan to Hawaii. We had enough money saved up, but I was never the one to really sit around and wait for opportunity to fall in my lap. So I decided to apply with a temp agency. I figured that while I was job searching I could bring in some extra income by working here and there jobs. The same day I applied the agency placed me on a one day temp assignment. What we didn't know was that the person that I was substituting for never came back. Three weeks later I was hired as an Escrow Assistant through the company I was sent out to work for on that one day assignment.

At the time I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, what a cool job to help people find work. That's what I want to do". Instead, I spent the next eleven years working in a job that I really didn't like. There were days that I went to work feeling like Tom Hanks in Joe Vs. The Volcano. I just couldn't, but I did anyway. Even after three layoff's in four years (during the recession) I still forced myself into that square hole. Something had to change and I knew it was working at a staffing agency.

I was lucky enough to work at three staffing agencies while I hopped back to escrow every few years (I'm a slow learner). During that time I interviewed hundreds of job searchers, redid or created their resumes, and placed them in qualified positions. But even with working in staffing I realized that perhaps I wasn't really cut out for it. There was something about sticking to a 9-5 job that was difficult for me. Probably because no matter where I have worked, my schedule would be 7:00AM - 9:00PM because of how incredibly dedicated and focused I get. Naturally I burned out of that too.

Which leads me to where I am today. It turns out that while I just can't seem to fit into that 9-5 mold, I do love what I did. Not only am I good at creating resumes, and helping people put them together, I am also creative. I am a multipotentialite. Which means that I don't have "one" true calling instead of several. It's hard for me to fit in the box because I don't belong in a box. I had a friend tell me once that "You can't tame a tiger".

In 2009 I started a freelance business providing wedding, engagement and family photography. I also started to write essay's and have been published, and syndicated to a few online magazines. Last year I bought my first iPad and spent the summer creating digital art, music, and editing videos. In November 2020 after I moved to Sweden I was introduced to video resumes, which have now begun to replace paper resume's. I believe that in the next 10 years paper resumes will be outdated, and video resume's will be the norm.

I am passionate about bringing your story to life. Now you can sell your personality, and soft skills along with your technical skills through a one minute video by simply being yourself. I will work with you, and communicate with you exactly how we can bring your story to life.
