Introduction

Headline:

I Want to Help 50 Engineers Find their Dream Job

I am a(n):

Professional Engineer | Engineering Manager | Engineering Mentor | Ph.D. | Graduate Course Developer | Manufacturing and Automation Consultant

I am the go-to for:

Helping engineers find their dream job and advance in their careers both professionally and personally.

What I do:

The engineering profession is well-paid and rewarding, but also stressful and challenging. Many engineers will reach a point at which they will ask themselves what they are doing and where they are going. I help them answer these topics and develop a plan for a successful and rewarding future.

About

Why me:

✔ I studied at some of Canada's top engineering universities, obtaining a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering.
✔ I worked for almost nine years as a senior engineer and project manager in aerospace manufacturing, building automated machine tools and production lines.
✔ I was a manager in the testing department for the development of new gas turbine engines, where I instrumented engine parts and proved-out new technology.
✔ I was an adjunct professor at McGill University where I supervised students and created and taught a new graduate-level course for a class of nearly 30.
✔ I am a manager of a team of nine employees at a Vancouver-area high-tech manufacturing company.
✔ I have mentored countless students and engineers and love helping others succeed in their career.

In summary I have worked in industry and academia, both big and small companies, and as an engineer and manager. I have seen what works and what doesn't and believe this wide range of experience gives me unique perspectives on career development.

What it’s like to work with me:

If you are currently unemployed or are looking for a new job, I can help you find your dream job. As a hiring manager who has interviewed dozens of potential candidates, I know what companies are looking for and what can put your resume at the top of the pile.
I also know what may put companies off and why you may not be getting interviews or call-backs. Book time with me and I can help you out!

I also have three, six and 12-session programs where I will step you through a series of discussions on certain themes. At the end of each session I give my clients homework, which we will review on our next session. This ensures that our meetings have structure and that there is forward progress through specific actions and accountability.

However, each program is tailored somewhat to the needs of the individual. I am conscious that some engineers may not even want to continue with engineering! This is why career development is not a one-size-fits-all process.

I recommend a discovery session to determine the needs of the client so I can adjust my program accordingly. Our discussions will be kept strictly confidential.

Fun fact about me:

I love competitive sports. Soccer and squash have been constants for me from a young age. I have played both to a high level.

I am a car nut. My teachers used to ask me "don't you have anything else to write about?" in my journals when I was young.

I love fixing things. Why throw it out if it can be repaired?
